About the Course

Before the Las Vegas golf boom in recent years, this fantastic Jay Moorish design laid claim to being the original desert-style course in the city. Designed in 1982, Painted Desert Golf Club has been providing players with a tough but fair challenge for over 20 years, and we feel the course has never looked and played better.

Many of our customers comment on the "receptiveness" of the greens. They just don?t get any softer or more mature, and they are exceptionally well maintained at this facility. However, reaching those greens in regulation is no easy task. Painted Desert takes pride in making the course difficult from each tee-box. On holes 1 thru 18, players will notice the rather large bushes surrounding the tee-boxes that will "eat" your golf ball on errant shots and low-flying burners. One has to be accurate, however those who keep the ball straight are rewarded with relatively easy approach shots to greens that are, again, soft enough to hold even the hardest Top Flite in your bag.

The great accomplishment Painted Desert has been able to provide over the years has been to offer an exceptional price/value (by Las Vegas standards). Particularly during the week, Painted Desert offers green fees below $80 in peak season- a rarity for a course of this caliber in Las Vegas. This one belongs on the list for those who want to experience fantastic golf without breaking the bank.

I don't know how they do it, but Painted Desert consistently has the most receptive greens in town. Think you can hit one? During overseed, consider Siena or SilverStone as good alternatives.
